Sustainability: education and Edu-Action

DPAC is excited to present SUSTAINABILITY: Education and Edu-Action

The goal of this session is to provide a lens on “What is Sustainability?” and to create an educational forum for gathering and distributing information on sustainability. From the City of Vancouver’s citywide plans to the actions of individuals, the session will highlight work being done to promote and involve communities in sustainability and responsible citizenship. This is an opening for parents to share, learn, and enhance the efforts taken by community members.

Our hope as DPAC is to bring together experts and advocates on sustainability including members of the Vancouver School Board’s Sustainability Committee and our own Vancouver students to create a chance for parents and guardians to gain understanding and insights into this critical time.

We are fortunate to feature the work of the Sustainabiliteens and look forward to having you meet some of these incredible teens and hear what they have to say about the future.

Light refreshments will be provided. In keeping with the theme of the meeting, we will have limited disposable plates and encourage you to bring your own. Please bring your own water bottle or non-alcoholic beverage.

All parents of students enrolled in the Vancouver school district are welcome to attend. Please register at least 48 hours ahead of time if you require childcare for this meeting.

Parking for attending DPAC meetings is complementary, provided you park in one of the designated VSB visitor parking spots in the parkade which are located on the lowest level. The parkade is located off the southeast intersection of Fir Street at West Broadway. You must register your name and vehicle license plate number in the parking registry located on the Ground Floor of the Education Centre building around the corner from the reception desk towards the Board Room. The registry is used for parking validation purposes only.
