Each year, Kits PAC funds numerous teacher and student initiatives and activities throughout the school.
Criteria that influence the allocation of funding include the following:
-
Is the request for PAC funds valid / important to the school?
-
How many students will benefit?
-
Are alternative sources of financing available (e.g., school, VSB, student council)?
-
How much funding has this activity or group already received in prior years?
Examples of initiatives and activities funded in the past include Athletics, Drama, Music, Mini-school, Link Crew, Safe Teen workshops, Math contests, Student clubs and more…
It is important to note that the school does not have the funds to cover all of the requests that the PAC receives. Through the PAC’s main fundraiser, the direct donation campaign called KitsNOW, the parent body can help fill the requests of the departments and clubs in the school, and help make Kitsilano the vibrant school the staff and students envision.
PAC Budget Documents
In this space, you will find current and past PAC budgets. PAC requests all teachers and students to submit requests for funding by September 30 to be considered for the PAC budget for the current school year.
After reviewing requests for funding with the school administration, the PAC executive meets to craft budgets for its two accounts: admin and gaming. Proposed budgets are then submitted to parents at a general PAC meeting in the fall (usually October) for discussion, amendment and voting.
In compliance with the Kits PAC Constitution, all requests for funding exceeding $200 made after the PAC budgets are passed at a PAC general meeting must be discussed, voted on and passed at a subsequent PAC general meeting.
